01

An amenity photo is evidence

An amenity image should show what exists, where it sits, and enough surrounding context for a guest to understand its use. A tightly cropped coffee machine may look attractive but says little about the kitchen, supplies, or available workspace.

Photograph the current amenity rather than a representative version. If availability is seasonal, shared, off-site, or subject to restrictions, the image and listing copy should not imply otherwise.

02

Show scale and access

Capture pools, balconies, hot tubs, patios, gyms, parking, and workspaces from an angle that shows boundaries and access. Include safety features and steps when they affect use instead of hiding them behind a flattering crop.

  • Pool or hot tub with deck context
  • Workspace with chair, light, and outlet context
  • Kitchen equipment in the usable kitchen
  • Parking and path to the property
  • View from the place guests actually access
  • Laundry and family equipment where provided
03

Photograph sleeping and working claims carefully

Show the complete bed and enough of the room to understand circulation. Sofa beds, bunks, and converted spaces should be presented as they will be prepared for a guest, with occupancy claims checked against the listing.

For remote-work claims, show the desk, chair, nearby outlet, lighting, and room context. A decorative console is not automatically a practical workspace.

04

Finish without upgrading the amenity

Correct dark exposure, mixed color, mild perspective, and noise, but do not add missing equipment, replace worn surfaces, enlarge a pool, improve a view, or remove a safety limitation. The finished frame should remain defensible beside the original.

Virtual staging and material scene changes require a different disclosure standard from ordinary photographic correction. Keep those workflows separate.

05

Run a final availability check

Before publishing, confirm that every photographed amenity is included for the relevant listing, room type, season, and rate. Archive or replace images as soon as the real amenity changes.

A smaller accurate amenity set builds more confidence than a broad gallery containing features a guest may not receive.

A note on accuracy

Property advertising rules vary. Review every enhanced image against the original and disclose material or generated changes wherever required.
